Mt. Comfort Elementary Fall Festival: Pumpkins, Bonfires & Book Fairy Magic

If fall could bottle itself into one perfect evening, it would’ve looked a whole lot like the Mt. Comfort Elementary Fall Festival—and trust me, I had front-row parking. Bonfires were glowing, country bangers were blasting (whoever booked that band deserves a medal and maybe a record deal), and families were everywhere—laughing, dancing, and chasing kids with candy-stuffed pumpkins like it was the Great Pumpkin Heist of 2025.
And right in the middle of it all? Yours truly.
I parked myself proudly under the lights, polished up my hubcaps, and showed off shelves stacked to the ceiling with stories. My favorite moment? When I rolled open my door to reveal the brand-new release of Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Partypooper—you’d have thought I was handing out free iPads. Kids came sprinting faster than the line for Chick-fil-A nuggets, and honestly, same.
The students and families of Mt. Comfort know how to do a fall festival right. Faces painted, arms full of raffle tickets, hearts full of fall spirit—and a few grandparents already crossing names off their holiday shopping lists (you’re my people). Parents swapped book recommendations, teachers popped by for a chat, and I caught more than one kid reading by the bonfire. Pure magic.
It was the kind of night that makes even an old camper like me get a little misty—books, community, laughter, and a perfectly chaotic dose of autumn air.
Mt. Comfort families, you nailed it: come hungry, come happy, and leave smelling like campfire and chicken minis.
Until next time, keep your marshmallows toasted and your Main Character Energy bookmarks handy.
