Shaken Up Mother’s Day Weekend
If you heard giggles, stepped in melted snow cone, or saw a glittery trailer surrounded by happy chaos this weekend, that was me, Sylvia, parked proudly at Shake-Up-Day at Monon Works!
I rolled in with all my fairy flair and shelves full of stories just waiting for curious kiddos. And boy, did the kids show up! Some came from down the street, some from across town, and a few may have wandered in from a bounce house-induced sugar high. Either way—I was thrilled to see every single one of those smiling faces.
The festival was bursting with fun:
🍹 Shake Up Cocktails (for the grown-ups, thankfully—but if of age, check them out: Hi & Mighty | Indy Distillery at Indiana State Fair)
🍺 Big Lug Canteen (Big Lug Canteen)
🌮 Local food that was way too good to eat politely
🖼️ Awesome artisans with some true works of art!
🏰 And of course, a bounce house where gravity was more of a suggestion than a rule
My favorite moment? Watching a kid spot a book with their name on the cover—cue the wide eyes, gasps, and the T-Swift song Anti-Hero, “IT’S ME! Hi!”
I was glowing…shvitzing a bit from the sun but mostly oozing pure joy! I couldn’t have asked for a better day of story magic, community joy, and just the right amount of chaos. Thanks to all who visited, shopped, laughed, and helped make Shake-Up-Day so special!
Oh, and to all you mamas out there—dog moms, cat moms, bonus-moms, bunny moms, plant moms, future moms, and the ones just winging it day by day—keep killin’ it. You are seen, appreciated, and crushing it in your own magical way.
Until the next adventure and shop for books: Shop for Books – The Book Fairy Indy,
