Shake Up Stocking Stuffer Holiday Mart-Where books met booze and adults behaved responsibly-ish
If holiday shopping went to therapy and figured some things out… this would be it.
The Shake Up Stocking Stuffer Holiday Mart took over High and Mighty Distillery, and let me just say—this was not your grandma’s craft fair (unless your grandma is into craft cocktails, speed dating, and shopping with a drink in hand… in which case, respect).
This was a 21+ event, and it showed in all the best ways. Adults wandered in ready to sip, socialize, and knock out those “oh no I forgot a gift” moments—cocktail in one hand, credit card in the other.
Shake Up made her grand debut with a ginger cranberry cocktail, and she was festive, spicy, and dangerously drinkable. Guests could:
-
Learn how to make cocktails in hands-on classes
-
Sip their way through the space
-
Casually browse local vendors while feeling extremely accomplished
There was also speed dating, which added a delightful layer of chaos and curiosity. Nothing like locking eyes over a table wrapped perfectly with holiday paper, “Is this love… or just the gin?” The speed dating was overseen by an elf armed with a clipboard and a gong—because nothing accelerates romance like holiday cosplay and strict time management. I could watch her for hours!
Due to cold temps, rain, and the cozy indoor setup, Sylvia stayed home (she’s cute, but not built for sleet). Instead, I tucked into a corner of the distillery—warm, dry, and surrounded by the hum of clinking glasses and great conversation.
At one point, a fellow vendor wandered over, absolutely delighted. She had just found the perfect gift:
“Otto the Ornament.”
Why the excitement?
Because it was for her 35-year-old brother…
whose name is Otto.
When I tell you this book was meant to be found—it was one of those moments where the universe clearly understood the assignment. Equal parts hilarious, thoughtful, and holiday magic in book form.
Thanks to High and Mighty Distillery for the warm welcome, and to everyone who stopped by to shop, sip, and support local vendors. It was a great way to wrap up the season.
Cheers,
Casey (Sylvia’s Handler)
