From the Desk (er, Bumper) of Sylvia the Book Fairy

WHEW. I’m still catching my breath and adjusting my hitch after zooming into Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana’s Play for Kids Celebration—and when I say play, I mean a little rain didn’t hold this crew back!

I rolled up to the Children’s Museum’s Riley Children’s Health Sports Legends Experience (try saying that five times fast without knocking over your fairy wings) where Bigs, Littles, and entire families celebrated the magic of mentoring— and stocked up on some seriously good summer reads.

Kids ran. They climbed. They zoomed. They played sports I couldn’t identify. I tried to join a game of homerun derby but got benched for being “too rectangular.” Rude but fair.

But the BEST part? These incredible kids picked out books that made their eyes sparkle brighter than my hubcaps. From The Babysitters Club to stories about finding your voice, friendship, dragons, dogs, and the occasional fart joke—each book found a new home, and I had a front-row parking spot to all the joy.
