Boltdog Booster Bash- Karaoke, Slime, and Sand—Oh My!
Well, polish my hubcaps and pass me the glitter glue—what a kickoff party! Last week (I’m a smidge behind on my entries) I parked myself at Canterbury Park for their big back-to-school celebration, and IPS 55 families showed up ready to party like the kids are back in school and parents are free again!
From the minute the doors opened, the park turned into a full-blown carnival. Kids were belting their favorite tunes at karaoke like tiny rock stars, elbow-deep in slime, and building sandcastles that would make a beach jealous.
While the music pumped outside, a crew of young bookworms set up camp inside me. They curled into my benches with their fresh finds and read the entire evening away. Heart = melted.
Families came in droves, flipping pages, stacking stories, and making sure their home libraries got a back-to-school upgrade. The smell of new books mixing with warm pizza? Chef’s kiss.
Huge fairy-sized thank-you to IPS 55 for inviting this ol’ trailer to the bash and to every kiddo (and grown-up) who made me their reading nook for the night. You proved—again—that a good story can outshine even the sparkliest slime.
Until the next adventure,
XO Sylvia
